Where to Hit the Beach in Panama City Beach
With over a hundred beach access points in Panama City Beach, we’ve narrowed it down to a handful, each offering a different view of our stunning coastline!
Russel-Fields City Pier | 16101 Front Beach Road
Just steps away from Pier Park, Russell-Fields Pier extends over 1,500 feet into the Gulf of Mexico. This beach access point is perfect for anyone looking to cast a line, stroll on the pier, or unwind on the surrounding beach. Reel in Cobia, King Mackerel, or Pompano, and if you didn’t pack your gear, you can rent rods, bait, and tackle nearby. Watch for sea turtles or playful dolphins, and if you visit in the afternoon, you can witness beautiful sunset views directly over the Gulf of Mexico.
When it’s time for lunch, head to Margaritaville or Pompano Joe’s Seafood House, just a short stroll away. After you’ve had your fill of sun and sand, swing by Swampy Jack’s Wongo Adventure or Gulf World Marine Park for a fun time with the family.
St. Andrews State Park | 4607 State Park Lane
If you want to experience outdoor activities, wildlife, and beach relaxation, spending a day at St. Andrews State Park is just what you need. Sandwiched between St. Andrews Bay and The Gulf of Mexico, it’s the perfect spot to swim, snorkel, and surf. If you prefer to stay dry, stroll or ride a bicycle through nature trails lined with pines and dunes. Let the kids burn off any extra energy on the playground while you take a break at the picnic pavilion, enjoying lunch and the gorgeous views!
Rick Seltzer Park | 7419 Thomas Drive
Rick Seltzer Park is a go-to beach access point with everything you need for a sun-soaked day by the Gulf. MB Miller County Pier | 12213 Front Beach Road
Cast your worries away at M.B. Miller County Pier, the ultimate spot to hook a big one. Beyond fishing, this pier is also a prime location for kicking back, relaxing, and soaking up the sun. And when the day winds down, stick around for a front-row seat to a breathtaking Gulf sunset. With plenty of parking, you only need to show up and enjoy. After reeling in your prize, head over to Goofy Golf for a round of mini-golf, or make a splash at Shipwreck Island Waterpark.
Camp Helen State Park | 23937 Panama City Beach Parkway
Camp Helen State Park is your go-to getaway, bordered by the Gulf on one side and Lake Powell, Florida’s largest coastal dune lake, on the other. Spend the day swimming, beachcombing for hidden treasures, or spotting local wildlife. Bring your kayak or paddleboard and glide across the serene waters of Lake Powell, then relax at the picnic pavilion with your favorite snacks when it’s time for a break. With plenty of parking and restrooms close by, your day of fun in the sun will be smooth sailing.
Dog Beach | 16201 Front Beach Road
Located in front of Pier Park, Dog Beach is a haven for dog lovers. Here, your furry friends can enjoy digging in the sand or splashing in the waters of the Gulf. Although this beach is dedicated to dogs, they must be leashed and well-behaved for everyone’s safety and enjoyment. After a day of playing fetch with your beloved pets, you can take them out to eat at one of the dog-friendly places around the area, like Diego’s or Salty Sue’s.
