Your Destin Spring Itinerary
Morning Beach Stroll and Breakfast
Take a stroll along the shoreline, gather a few shells, then head to the Donut Hole, a popular café known for its hearty breakfasts and home-made donuts, pastries, and pies. Linger over a Belgian waffle or breakfast burger, or go all in with the Gulf Coast crab meat benedict. The cozy, sunlit atmosphere filled with regulars and first-timers will make you feel right at home!
Crab Island and Harborwalk Village
A spring vacation in Destin would be incomplete without a visit to Crab Island, a submerged sandbar presenting ideal conditions for anchoring, floating, and soaking up the sunshine with friends and family. This popular gathering place just north of the Destin bridge is accessible only by water. To get there, head over to Harborwalk Village and rent everything from double-decker pontoon boats to jet skis and even private, captained charters for a few hours of fun on the water!
Lunch and Shopping
Cruise back to the harbor, return your boat, and ease into lunch and a little browsing. While you’ll have plenty of tempting options along the waterfront, we suggest Margaritaville for a delicious meal and even better views! Dive into peel-and-eat shrimp, a cheeseburger in paradise, or fresh fish tacos, then cool off with a frozen libation while watching the boats drift in and out of the harbor. Afterward, wander through the shops and pick up a new swimsuit, breezy cover-up, or an outfit for dinner!
A Museum and Waterpark
The Destin History and Fishing Museum offers a glimpse of Destin’s rich fishing heritage. Inside, you’ll find rods and reels, historic photographs, and impressively mounted record-breaking catches that tell the story of how Destin became the “World’s Luckiest Fishing Village.” Add a splash of excitement at Big Kahuna’s, a classic water and adventure park featuring dozens of attractions. Whether you’re racing down a twisting slide, floating beside the wave pool, or playing a round of mini golf, it’s a great way to cool off and make more family memories on your spring vacation in Destin.
A Cool Treat and the Beach
Swing by The Yard Milkshake Bar for an indulgent, over-the-top milkshake, then hit the beach! You’ll find several public beach access points, but we suggest the James Lee Park, with plenty of parking, convenient showers and restrooms, and wide-open stretches of sand that give everyone room to roam.
Dinner and a Sunset
As the day unwinds, enjoy a delicious dinner at Boshamps, a local favorite known for fresh Gulf seafood, oysters on the half shell, and hearty Southern classics. After your meal, take a leisurely drive down Holiday Isle to Norriego Point as the sky blushes in shades of crimson and gold, the picture-perfect ending to your Destin spring vacation!
