Where is 30A?

Scenic Highway 30A, or simply “30A”, is a two-lane road located in the panhandle of Northwest Florida, nestled between Panama City and Destin. The corridor is known for its pristine beaches and charming communities, where natural features like coastal dune lakes and nearby state parks sit alongside beautiful homes and low-density condominiums with modern amenities.

Access is easy by car via the I-10 corridor and connecting highways. For those flying in, Northwest Florida Beaches International Airport in Panama City is about 30 minutes away, while the Destin - Fort Walton Beach Airport is roughly an hour away.

Things to do on 30A

Not sure how to spend your time on 30A? The options are endless! Spend an afternoon on one of the two dozen golf courses in the 30A area, take a beach cruiser along the coast, or head out on the water on a stand-up paddleboard or kayak. Local art galleries are also well worth the visit, with creative spaces sprinkled throughout South Walton’s beach communities.

Farmers’ markets are a great way to experience local flavor along 30A, and South Walton has several filled with vendor booths and fresh fare. Options include the 30A Farmers Market and the Seaside Farmers Market for delicious farm-to-table goods. Rosemary Beach’s Farmers Market is wildly popular, and Grand Boulevard’s Farmers Market continues to grow!

Timpoochee Trail

Stretching about 19 miles along 30A, the Timpoochee Trail runs from Dune Allen to Rosemary Beach with easy access to beaches along the way. The paved trail runs along the Gulf of Mexico, making it ideal for walking, jogging, or biking. Bring along some snacks and make an afternoon out of hopping between scenic stops along the route!

Point Washington State Park

Covering more than 15,000 acres, Point Washington State Park features 27 miles of trails designed for hiking, biking, and horseback riding. Multiple loop options, including 3-, 5.5-, and 10-mile routes, make it easy to choose a route that fits your plans. Trailheads with parking are located nearby on County Road 395.

Seagrove Beach

  • Shades Bar and Grill - offering up burgers and po’boys for lunch and flatbreads, wings, and specialty plates for dinner, all complemented by a nice selection of draft beers

  • The 30A Songwriters Festival, an annual four-day event bringing over 120 singers and songwriters to the area, performing at over two dozen venues scattered throughout 30A.
  • The Seabreeze Jazz Festival in nearby Panama City Beach attracts over 20,000 fans for a weekend of smooth jazz.
  • The Digital Graffiti Festival brings artists, musicians, designers, and filmmakers together for a one-of-a-kind experience, displaying digital and moving works of art in the white-walled community of Alys Beach for spectators to enjoy.

30A Weather

The weather along 30A is pleasant and mild year-round, cooling off late fall through early spring. Daytime temperatures range from 60 to 80 degrees, while nighttime temperatures rarely dip below 40 degrees, even during the coldest months. Rain showers are typically short-lived and intermittent, rapidly clearing away for sunny skies and outdoor play.
