June 20, 2024

With so much to explore, crafting the perfect 30A weekend itinerary can feel overwhelming. From serene beaches and unique coastal dune lakes to charming communities and incredible architecture, it’s hard to know where to begin. That’s why we tapped our local Scenic Stays team to highlight the best of this iconic coastline.

Whether going on your honeymoon or bringing the whole family for a weekend getaway, let The Scenic Stays Local be your guide to the perfect weekend on 30A!

Day One – Start Your Weekend on 30A at the Beach

The highlight of any 30A weekend itinerary is the beach. We recommend exploring it on your first day, right after a delicious breakfast at The Perfect Pig. With three locations, you’ll have no problem finding one near you. Pairing a mimosa with a mouthwatering pork belly biscuit, Seagrove hash, or breakfast chilaquiles is a great start to any weekend on 30A!

After breakfast, it’s time to hit the beach! From laid-back Dune Allen Beach on the west end of 30A to the furthermost reaches of Inlet Beach, you’ll find numerous beach access points along the way. Seaside and Rosemary Beach are the most popular spots, drawing crowds seeking sun, fun-filled activities, and a lively atmosphere. No matter where you choose to spend your weekend on 30A, you’ll be greeted with powdery white sands and crystal-clear turquoise waters.

Once you’ve had your fill of sun, browse the shops in Seaside. Enjoy a leisurely bike ride along the Timpoochee Trail for the rest of the afternoon. Stop along the way to explore the shops and boutiques in the charming communities dotting the coastline!

Here’s what our team members have to say:

I suggest heading to Dune Allen, Blue Mountain, or Inlet Beach for a more secluded beach location, as they tend to be quieter. It’s breathtaking every single day of the year, no matter what season you visit. I also like to get lunch on Airstream Row in Seaside, where you’ll find plenty of delicious options. Grab a table under an umbrella, do some people-watching, and enjoy the gorgeous environment. For dinner, you can’t go wrong with a meal at Fish Out of Water (FOOW) or Shunk Gulley Oyster Bar. Both offer delicious seafood, stunning sunset views and the perfect end to a day on 30A.

Day Two – Galleries, Farmer’s Markets, and Dining Al Fresco

While the beach is undoubtedly the main attraction on 30A, there’s plenty more to discover. Enjoy a delicious breakfast at The Great Southern Cafe in Seaside. Fuel up with hearty Southern classics like grits and grillades or crab cake benedict for a great start to your day.

After breakfast, explore the local farmer’s market in Rosemary Beach. Chat with friendly local vendors while browsing booths filled with pastries, artisan bread, and homemade jams. Spend the afternoon visiting a few art galleries showcasing local artists. Whether you’re searching for a unique handmade craft or a one-of-a-kind work of art, you’ll find something special to take home as a memento from your weekend on 30A. Head back to the beach in the afternoon to enjoy the Gulf waters, followed by a sunset dinner. Finish the day with a lovely beach stroll before returning to your vacation rental and unwinding for the night!

Here’s what our team members have to say:

When the waters are calm, I love to paddleboard on the coastal dune lakes or snorkel to see sea turtles and other marine life. I also enjoy dolphin tours to watch our playful dolphins in their natural habitat. Your 30A weekend itinerary should definitely include dinner at Pescado or Edward’s. There’s nothing like dining al fresco with panoramic views of the Gulf and watching the sunset!

Day Three – Your 30A Itinerary Should Include Brunch and Shopping

As your weekend on 30A draws to a close, make the most of your day by starting early. Grab your beach chairs, a blanket, and some coffee to go, then head to the beach. Sunrise is a great time to take a few photos and stroll along the sandy shores. If you arrive before everyone else does, you’ll also have the best selection of seashells!

Your 30A weekend itinerary should include a delicious brunch, and you’ll find several places to choose from. After brunch, spend your afternoon exploring the boutiques and shops along 30A. Whether looking for unique souvenirs or that perfect swimsuit, you’ll find it all there.

If you’re feeling adventurous, try paddleboarding on one of the coastal dune lakes. Spend the afternoon exploring the Western Lake at Grayton Beach State Park. Campbell Lake and Morris Lake in Topsail Hill Preserve State Park are also worth the trip. All are fun ways to experience the natural beauty of 30A from different perspectives. Afterward, hit the nature trails on 30A for glimpses of lush pine forests and native wildlife unique to the area.

No weekend on 30A would be complete without a meal at George’s in Alys Beach. The environment is ideal, offering fresh seafood and Southern favorites in a relaxed beachfront setting. Sample the seared sea scallops or the jerk-crusted gulf snapper, then back to the vacation rental to catch the perfect sunset!

Here’s what our team members have to say:

I suggest brunch at The Bay in Santa Rosa Beach for delicious Southern Gulf Coast cuisine. The views overlooking the Choctawhatchee Bay are unmatched, and the kids will love playing in the sand. The towns along 30A are known for local breweries crafting delicious brews. I make a point to hit one after the beach to sample their latest blend!

To make your 30A weekend itinerary even better, book with Scenic Stays! With a wide range of cozy vacation homes and condos, you’ll undoubtedly find the perfect place for your next beach retreat. See you in paradise!
