Family Fun Guide for Labor Day Weekend on 30A

May 19, 2025

While any weekend on 30A is cause for celebration, Labor Day Weekend is especially spectacular! Maybe it’s because summer’s still in full swing, perhaps it’s the anticipation of autumn on the horizon, but we think it’s because possibilities for new discoveries lie around every corner, especially in this coastal paradise! So, whether your weekend travels take you to Rosemary Beach, Inlet Beach, Seagrove Beach, or beyond, we’ve got the scoop on where to go, what to do, and how to make the most of Labor Day weekend on 30A!

Explore the Beaches of 30A

No trip to 30A would be complete without a trip to the beach! Those sugar white sands and emerald waters are in large part what brings so many visitors season after season. And whether you’re in the ‘chill on the beach every day’ camp or the ‘bring the Kadima and frisbee’ kind of family, 30A’s beaches deliver every time. From paddleboarding and kayaking to snorkeling and diving, you could easily spend your entire vacation on our sandy shores. We suggest otherwise, because you’d miss out on all the fun things to do on 30A this Labor Day weekend!

Browse a Farmer’s Market

One of the best ways to sample the flavors of any new location is by exploring farmers’ markets, and we’ve got a few along 30A! Browse the vendor booths on Barrett Square in Rosemary Beach for fresh fruits and vegetables, plants, and housewares. Over in Seaside, you’ll find the market in the town center, surrounded by shops, boutiques, and restaurants. Travel west to Grand Boulevard in Sandestin for everything from local honey to handmade soaps. The kids will love being outside, and you can stock up on a few tasty treats to enjoy back at your vacation rental!

Hit a Fun Festival or Event

You’ll find plenty of fun events to round out your Labor Day beach vacation. Here are just a few!

The Baytowne Wharf Art Fest is a great place to pick up local artwork to take back home—a lovely reminder of your visit here. The kids will enjoy running around, listening to live music, and the spectacular fireworks show over the lagoon at day’s end is pretty spectacular! If your vibe is a little more chill, grab your blankets and chairs and head to the amphitheater at Seaside for a movie under the stars. The Labor Day Sip N’ Shop at WaterColor features 20% off at local shops, complimentary bubbles and ice pops for the kids, plus wine tastings for the adults. Top off the weekend with two events at Hotel Effie in nearby Sandestin, including Labor Day Weekend on the Rooftop, featuring a taco bar and margarita specials, and the Rosé & Rooftop Garden Party with brunch-style sharables and champagne tastings!

Enjoy a Local Brunch

After all the festivities, you might want to stay in bed a little longer and meander out for a hearty brunch come afternoon, and we’ve got a few recommendations!

For some of the best Southern cuisine around, try The Bay. Grab a table on the outdoor deck overlooking the Choctawhatchee Bay, and order the crab Benedict and a house Bloody Mary. Watch the kids play in the sand and toast to yet another beautiful day on 30A! Looking for traditional omelettes with a twist? Try Crackings in Santa Rosa Beach. The kids will love the mini donuts and cinnamon rolls, and you can lose yourself in the lobster gouda grits. For elevated classic dishes, the Vue on 30A is another option, featuring savory dishes like stuffed French toast, chicken and waffles, and shrimp and grits.

Take a Scenic Bike Ride

One of the simplest pleasures during Labor Day is being outside the entire weekend. On 30A, it’s a way of life and includes cruising around on bikes. You’ll see plenty of families like yours doing the same, out enjoying the beautiful weather and scenic views. Hop on the Timpoochee Trail, an 18-mile paved trail coursing through the charming communities along 30A, stopping for ice cream along the way. Not only is it fun and relaxing, but it really is the best way to get around, particularly on holiday weekends.

Sip a Local Brew

You might be a little parched after riding bikes all day, and we’ve got just the thing! If you haven’t already tried it, the Beach Camp Brew Pub in Grayton Beach is worth a visit. Happy Hour is a great time to swing by and sample their house brews, many of which you’ll find in several local restaurants and bars. The kids can enjoy the loaded fries and mini burgers, while you sip and savor the flavors of the Coast!

Try a New Restaurant

No matter how many times you’ve been to 30A, there’s always a new restaurant to discover, whether it’s a buzzy new opening or just a local favorite you missed the last time you were in town. Here are a few of our favorites:

Fish Out of Water : for locally sourced Southern favorites served in a beautiful setting. Fish baskets, delectable handhelds, and delicious entrees all grace the menu, along with a kids’ meals sure to delight.
